On December 3rd, 2025, at the historic Wilshire Boulevard Temple in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles, a diverse group was gathered for a symposium on public safety and AI. It was a community event organized by the Israeli Consul General’s office and the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles.

Several dozen pro-Palestinian protestors began rallying outside the Temple. Other protestors had registered for this event under false pretenses and were in an event center on the campus. Protestors at the event interrupted the presentations and outside the campus, several dozen began chanting and shouting. Thankfully, Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s and the Israeli Consulate’s security teams, along with LAPD maintained safety across the Wilshire Boulevard Temple campus.

This disruptive behavior was not an expression of free speech, but of hostility, and was condemned by the Mayor of Los Angeles and other officials. Across the nation, Jewish institutions have been forced to spend over 765 million dollars annually for additional security measures due to the rise in antisemitism and anti-Zionism.
